Cheap MTB/commuter waterproof

[#13024503]

I have a nice jacket that is very packable. It's too nice for everyday commuting as I don't want to destroy it.

Any recommendations on a cheap (less than £60) waterproof that would be good for commuting and wet muddy enduro stuff.

Reasonably packable so it can go in a bag. Not super light though as it doesn't need to go in a pocket.

Bright, not black, not high vis yellow.

Breathability not much of a concern. Tough/resilient would be more important.

Was thinking about just getting a generic outdoor jacket although I only want a hood if it will go over a helmet. Worried about the on bike fit as I have long arms.

I got a cheap altura one (Esker, medium) which would be ideal. Arms are too short though. Will be selling it on (£35 posted pm me!)

Anyone seen any bargains or have suggestions on what to get.

Generic Regatta/Peter Storm single colour nylon type jobbie. The sort of thing you pick up in outdoor shops for about 40 quid when you get to your destination and realise you didn't bring your jacket with you.

I use one for uplift days. Big and flappy enough to go over armour, waterproof enough to keep the worst of and cheap enough that I never need to wash it beyond a quick hose off.

Middle_OAB has an Altura Nightvision, Eldest an Altura Typhoon. Both are fabby, if plasticy, and have worked well in miserable Deliveroo shifts - and often £50 in a sale.

I have an Altura Nevis for commuting which is the shizzle as a warm commuting jacket with the best vents of any jacket I have had (on your flanks/back, vertical) and just works. I picked mine up for £20 but they are more usually about £50 again. Pack bigger than the two listed above.

Go Decathlon or Mountain Warehouse.

I got a hiking one, as have long back shorts and trousers.

Had a Crag Hopper jacket that was my best waterproof for 2-3 years. Survived a couple of wet/muddy festivals and kept me dry(ish)
