Given 29ers are sooooo much better than 26, eBay is no doubt full of those slowcoach-behemoths at knockdown prices...

Any superlight QR hard/softail brands/models to look for? (I'm assuming Cannondale and Scott)

Also any light 26 tubeless rim bargains around?

Not whenever I have looked. Any decent 26 bikes are still going for good prices. The 2 you mention in particular - Scott Scales and Cannondales with lefties are not cheap.

The best way to a cheaper bike is look for local pickup only as that is the main killer to the selling price.

I found it difficult to find anything decent on eBay a few years back. Picked up a Kona Caldera frame cheaply locally from facebook classifieds in the end.

There were some cheap alloy Chinese frames on eBay for around £100-£150 at the time but I got the Kona for £50.

I reckon FB classifieds is your best chance of a bargain - and probably as a whole bike rather than just a frame. Just be wary of obviously stolen frames / bikes with very poor descriptions of spec by someone who clearly doesn’t know what they are.

I have an On-One Scandal and some Sun Ringle wheels that fit that description that I could be persuaded to part with.

3.5lb is reasonably light for a frame especially a CHEAP one for a CHEAPskate.

I bought a Scott Spark 10 carbon 26er XL frame for £280 3-4 years ago. Best bike I have ever had - never had a 27.5/29er though ...

weight weenies

Might be worth having a look through the weight weenies listings and cross checking with ebay.
