I am after a cheap goretex jacket for my commute! I have seen some of the army surplus jackets for £40! I have a Fluro tabard thing so the camo colour isn't an issue!
I know some peeps use the goretex trousers for cycling, I just wandered if the jackets were worth a try?
Field & Trek are doing Berghaus paclites for £80.
I used the jackets for work, I have too thought about buying them for riding in, think they'd be reet, bit heavy maybe but good big hoods for helmet coverage and brilliant value.
Other breathable waterproof fabrics are available.

Decathlon's B'Twin 700 jacket looks a bargain, pitzip's are more useful than breathable materials.
