Flying to Spain next year and I have a choice of:

Easyjet
Ryanair
Jet2
Monarch

Whose best these days

Will have a 30lb bike plus kit so, I think one of the above only gives 20kg total rather than 32kg.......

Any experiences?

Buying a bag plus a bike as allowance from EasyJet gives you a 32kg allowance, but they ask that "you keep the weight of each individual bag below 23kg wherever possible".

...but check it's still up to date. Note vintage Gary Fisher full suspension bike in photo at top.

If you're booking a while in advance, and taking bikes, it can be worth looking at the 'non-budget' carriers too. Things like sales, no extra fees and the better luggage allowances can make them cheaper than budget airlines. For example on most flights BA give you an allowance of two checked bags under 23kg, and will allow one of them to be a bike, for free.

Ignore DoctorRad's post, if you buy the sports equip + hold baggage options you get 50Kg allowance (20Kg hold, 32Kg sports but total can't be more than 50Kg), this is due to the small print exception that bikes aren't subject to an excess baggage charge.
