Who is the best cheap airline to go with for flights to the Alps from central Scotland? Easy jet are not taking any booking from mid April onward, do they still run summer flights?
easyjet certainly dtop flying to grenoble in the summer, forced to use lyin air, riciulous extra charges especially for bikes and kit really annoy me!
Easyjet do Edinburgh - Geneva, pretty sure that's still happening for 2010. I think that's about it!
Easyjet have also stopped flying out of the East Midlands airport and most other carriers are well costly, so stuff them I'm putting all my stuff (at no extra cost) in the back of the car and driving over. A long drive I admit but will just be part of the holiday, 9 hours from Calais just like a shortish shift at work really and I can't wait.

easyjet are flying to innsbruck. all summer but on thursday and sunday only or something close to that.
from manchester and gatwick i think. maybe worth a small train ride instead of paying LOADS IN EXCESS??
Cheers! I thought I would book up in advance but its turning out to be not as simple as I thought. Edinburgh easy jet are flying to Geneva all summer I think so it looks like a goer!
Can't give you an answer on cheap airlines when I was pricing up easyjet this week it seemed to get quite expensive quickly (about half the cost of my return trip to china) when you add on all the bits you need.
A few years ago a mate took the train, it goes all the way to Thonon (pretty convenient if you are heading to the PDS area) and as flights only come out 13 weeks (I think?) in advance in our country there may be some seriously cheap option at the moment for the summer.
I live in southern england so it is a bit different for me but when I priced it up once it looked pretty possible and I doubt that there would be any luggage restrictions other than your own bodys ability to be a pack horse.
We booked Easyjet a few months ago Liverpool - Geneva for £117 (or there abouts) including the bikes.
Looks like you have to be quick off the mark to get the best deals.

You can also take the train all the way to Bourg Saint Maurice (for Sainte Foy, Les Arcs, etc.), however train tickets are generally only released about 3 months in advance.
It's not cheap either, but by the time you add-in airport transfers, bike carriage, etc. it can be fairly competitive. Less weight hassles too!
steveomcd you hit the nail on the head; I meant the trains are only released about 13 weeks in advanced but typed flights in error.
