I am going to buy a cheap 50 bike light and do the thermal paste mods people mention in earlier threads but don't like the green tint of the light. I like the warmer white colours like the MCE. Is there a p7 I can buy to replace this led that will give me the colour I prefer but still the same lumens?

If you have any dx part number for a new part then please post back.

someone on here bought a branded DX light with a different LED, sure it mentioned the part number(may require some soldering, and i have no idea how easy/hard that may turn out to be)

As for the green tint, surely most of the landscape is green, so surely its just an efficient colour to use?

I have the "green tint Bastid" and to be honest I prefer it to the MTE SSC P7.

The light from the tourch is white where as the Bastid is a slight green tint to it, the white light appears to make scenary very 2D (flat)but the Bastid gives more depth 3D

Give it a try I do prefer the "Bastid" but thats my opinion, you might not like it then look at the mods

TBH, when you're riding with the bastid light on you don't notice the colour tint to the light, there are too many variables in background for it to be really noticable. I've got a P7 SSC torch and the led is slightly 'warmer', but away from a plain white wall barely noticable. It's just not worth bothering about, honestly.
