After upgrading my my full suss from a bike that was 26" to one which is 27.5" and different seat tube ID, I'm left with a load of redundant parts - wheels, tyres, forks, 30.9 dropper. Now I was going to sell these parts on along with the frame (carbon nomad mk2 - not a stealth ad), but I've had the itch to build up a hardtail for a while and seeing as I've got the above lying around be which I'm unlikely to get much cash for, as well as spare brakes and half an 11spd drive train in the parts bin I'm thinking why not scratch that itch and build up a cheap, fun, aggressive hardtail.

So after ideas for a frame I can pick up cheaply. Needs to be:
26" wheel
65-67 degree HA
30.9 seat tube ID
Ideally routing for a dropper - external
Able to take 150/160mm tapered forks
Circa £2-300 for the frame
Steel or alloy - but like the idea of steel
Hardtail

At the moment the on one 456 evo 2 seems to tick all the boxes other than being out of stock in my size (large / 20") and a bit wary of on ones recent poor reputation on quality control and customer service

Any other ideas of a frame that would meet that spec. Happy to look 2nd hand, but not found anything on a quick search on pink bike and the like

Large (19") 2013 Santa Cruz chameleon?
26" (27.5 fits too)
30.9 ST
Can't remember the HA
I ran mine with tapered 150mm pikes
Internal/external dropper routing
I'll sell you mine for £175 posted, £165 collected from Leeds, comes with 142x12 (inc DT Swiss axle) and qr dropouts, a hope headset and Santa Cruz qr seat clamp. Couple of cosmetic scratches/paint rub but no dents.

The EVO 2 is no good as it won't take tapered fork steerer, it's a standard 1 1/8th all the way on those.

On-one Carbon Evo's are cheap right now. 20" in raw finish look good.
26 or 27.5 wheels, ST is 31.6, but cheap shim would sort that.
They are lots of fun to ride.

Plenty of Dartmoor frames on the Slam69 website - hornet and primal both suitable for 26" wheels and old models dirt cheap
