Sounds like a good idea to me will it ever come to the UK though? Hopefully some third party will adopt and then you can use for any phone with just by purchasing different adapters.

There's a guy selling something like this at the Shambala festival each year.

But, think of the extra weight! And the drag...

APF 😉

Had one at my old shop about 7 years ago.
Never sold - think I gave it away as a christmas present.

surely one of those shimano dyna-hub things would do the job. they seem to work ok at lighting up all the shopper bikes.

i kinda wish i'd built one into a rim for the fixie. could do away with the handle bar mounted light.

I use a "Madison" solar charger in a bar bag and it will easily recharge a days worth of use of my Edge 705 and have a wee bit left over for the phone. Comes with a number of device adapters and the internal lithium battery can be charged from a USB port (and hence the mains with the right adapter).

The very one. Folds up a wee bit smaller for storage. Pair it with a 240vAC/5vDC adapter and it's a handy all-round charging solution.

For £30 it looks promising - I've avoided taking my gps smartphone (HD2) with me before because having the gps turned on kills the battery in a few hours - this might make it a bit more feasible.
