[#2163341]

What do I have to do to change to a maxle fork - do I need to change the front hub ? Current forks are Fox float RL's with a Commencal Deluxe hub. The damping is fine but I get the feeling something a little stiffer (Pikes ?) would be a help.

You'll need a new front hub.

Hope Pro 2. Then you can swap between QR, 20mm and 15mm using adapters for future proofing.

Hope Pro 2 fronts are a good option because you can use them with 20mm, 15mm, 9mm QR or - gawd help you - Maverick forks, just by using different adaptors, though the Mav ones don't centre the wheel for some reason.

Forget about Pikes - go for their big brothers Lyriks

+1 for lyriks, I have just traded up form a pair of (admittedly knackered) pikes and they are in a different league on stiffness and the damping circuit is fantastic.

i use both forks on my bike with either a QR or maxle[ fox float r and Pike air 454] use Hope hubs as above. Honestly I cant tell the difference in terms of stifness. I would not upgrade fomar maxle alone personally
Orange 5 is it matters.

I can tell a difference between my Maxle revs and my QR revs, but it's not big- I noticed when i changed the forks but 10 minutes into the ride I wasn't aware of the change any more, it was just forks being forks. Went back to the QR ones, much the same, when I thought about it for the first few minutes they felt a little flexy, but my brain just tuned it out almost immediately. Not a difference that changed my riding tbh.
