[#12115377]

Always thought I ought to give the puffer a shot, but never could work out the logistics/point of going that far north and not skiing/ice climbing. Got more into my biking recently, given up winter climbing, and have a slightly more flexible working arrangement so I'm thinking of booking the Friday off work and hoping that someone pops up with a solo place to sell.

Whaddaya reckon the chances of something coming available are?

Pretty high.

Always a few drop outs.

I'd keep looking. Join the FB page etc

Even if one doesn't it's worth rocking up, there will be a team somewhere who will need another body.
I'm pitting next year and not taking a bike otherwise I know I would get roped in to something

Always. I run a team of 4 every year when not soloing and even when I do solo bar one year it's was always a last minute drop out. We always end up scratching round in the dirt for someone last minute.

Doh, should have put "solo" in the thread title. Just to clarify, I don't fancy driving all that way unless I get the full on experience 🙂

Worst comes to the worst you can still ride round the course for 24hrs without a dibber and count your laps.

Unless you're planning on winning would it matter if you weren't classified in the results?

I've broken my foot so my attempt to go us once again foiled so if I cant get it rolled over my solo entry will be up for grabs.

That's a dick move if you do it during the event.
