Hi,

Any recommendations for a chainstay protector for my 456SS?

Thanks in advance

Not sure how this applies to a 456 ss, but I wrapped my 456 carbon chainstays in roadie bar tape with a cable tie at each end, because the neoprene efforts displease me.

I rather like it, now...

Electrical tape on mine (and my Blur 4X). Works and cheap to replace.

Self amalgamating tape from Maplins lasted quite well but cheapest and longest lasting is an old inner tube some care and patience cutting, wrapping and two zip ties-wrapped from BB shell to end of chainstay.
You can get carbons sheet wraps for about £20 a sheet.

Are you asking about a chainstay protector for a singlespeed bike? If the chain's tight enough, you won't really need it...

A bit of old inner tube and a zip tie?

Will Heli Tape be man enough?

PS it's not a single speed.

SS - summer season not single speed.

Ah - right. Oopsie.
One thing I've found that works a treat on my Orange 5 is self adhesive velcro. Use the fuzzy rather than sticky side. Lasts a good while if applied to a clean chainstay, and deadens the sound of chainslap into the bargain.

I thought he was being patronising by telling us that it's Stainless Steel. Glad you cleared that one up!
