I've just replaced my chain and felt that the cassette was fresh enough to be retained.
When I really put the pressure on the pedal whilst in the middle ring the chain slips.
Considering I replaced the middle ring(Deore) at the same time as the cassette, is it possible that the middle ring has worn before the XT casstte???
