Quick boring question - I'm going over to a single ring on the front, and it seems the female part of my bolts will be too long. Can anyone suggest a cheap supplier of short/narrow bolts? I don't really see why they should be costing £13! The bodger in me wants to get some chunky spring washers to go where the outer ring would have been...

Cheers!

I have in the past:

[*]Used washers as suggested above.[/*]
[*]Cut the female nuts down with a saw (ooh er!)[/*]
[*]Used the female nuts that come with spare rear derailer hangers (LBS sorted me right out)[/*]

There is always a way... 🙂

Our local supplier (Macadam Factors)sells packs of "Sprint" single-ring bolts, think they retail at a fiver.
