Chainreaction are turning to utter shit! For the second time in a month they have taken a week to even process an order and I've just called them to chase an order placed on the 12th, the gut said 'sorry we did not have it in stock but I'll get a guy to go to the other warehouse to get them sent out' total farce.
Oh good. Another CRC are shit thread...
Edit: Not to belittle the pain the OP is going through, of course.
Looks like I'll be buying my headset from Wiggle then.
In other news, no word that CRC are not honouring the 25% ****up last night!
They've been the last resort for me for a long time.
Last two orders delivered promptly here, normal service
In other news, no word that CRC are not honouring the 25% **** last night!
It was only 20% according to my maths. I imagine they will honour it on the smaller stuff, maybe not if someone has put through a £2k bike.
...but you never know.
I've had both sides on recent order. Several orders arrived at normal quick pace and the missing part from one (not crc's fault part missing in kit) was quickly rectified. But on the flip side my last order has been processing since the 9th (with the item I wanted most on it now out of stock on the site).
More annoying is the claim that the phones are open from 7:15 to 18:00. Phoned at 17:30 last night and several time after 8:30 today and they aren't open!
They used to be useful for there turn around speed, that's turned to crap so time to go elsewhere.
If they continue to apply a 20% discount at the checkout they can fail as much as they like
Always fast for me, but even a weeks delays is quicker than every LBS I've ever tried
12 days from order placed to email this morning confirming dispatch
Not terrible but they're nothing like my 1st choice any more
same story as the OP.... "order processing" for almost a week after ordering.
Why do I always miss these ordering/stock controll/discount thingies?
I reckon it's some kind of Pikey Karma for letting Rose know about the exchange rate issue (where it did the conversion twice) and I'll never get cheep stuff again 🙁
I think my last 4-5 orders (over about 3 months) from them have taken around 48 hours just to process, all orders placed before 1pm, generally around 9.30am, been getting dispatch confirmation emails at 8am too, which seems an odd time to dispatch.
Placed an order last week with them on Tuesday, stuff turned up on Monday. Yet my much bigger order from Rose Cycles in Germany ordered on the same day turned up on the Friday (yeah I had to pay £7 for postage but I probably saved £100 on the bits I brought).
Ordered a £3.99 Spoke tool on Monday at 9.30am, didn't get dispatched until late yesterday afternoon.
Disappointing really, as i used to order from CRC because i knew i'd get my stuff next day if ordered before on, or before my lunch break.
I ordered something on Monday night about 8pm, dispatched by 10am the following morning.
4 days to process an order for 2 packs of rotor screws. ordered on 10th, arrived on 18th and in a box the size of a rainforest. Not impressed. Merlin for this kid, as first choice.
They do not know where their stock is.
How do you get 20% discount? Is there a code or something?
In other news, no word that CRC are not honouring the 25% **** last night!
The bits I bought just got marked as dispatched. Great service, not sure what everyone is moaning about?!
Made an order the other week, turned out didn't have in stock, asked for a refund, still waiting for it, for a reasonably mount too.
It's a shame really 🙁
read the posts Damo, that's why we are moaning.
Good news damo. I keep checking my inbox!
for a reasonably mount too.
IS or post?
/sorry
Ive been using wiggle more often now, at least their stuff seems to be in stock.
Ordered stem, bars & spacers Monday afternoon, they were handed over by the postie at 8am this morning, pretty good.
If your concerned that CRC may take 48 hrs to deliver why dont you just order your stuff a day earlier.
Simple.
I very seldom use crc or wiggle now as the prices aren't great, high on bikes, pbk or merlin are generally my shops of choice.
This post prompted me to call them... they forgot to cancel my processing order too lol
A few weeks ago I ordered some bits and then an hour later I remembered there was something else I needed so I put another order in.
Assuming CRC's order numbers are consecutive, they'd had 244 orders in the space of an hour on a Sunday morning
Considering that we all order a completely random selection of bits and those bits have to be picked before they can be packed into one carton I think CRC do pretty well.
As said before, if you want your stuff quickly order each item separately - it really does work.

I don't get what you're saying. Do you think CRC is a couple of blokes in the pack room of a bike shop picking bits off a shelf and packing them.
If they can't cope with the vloume of orders then they should hire more people.
Day 7 - still "processing" my in stock items FFS!
Just called them - amongst the 4 items I've ordered a Stem is in a different location - THAT location is apparantly holding up their orders.
They'll attempt to speed up the order, if they cant send it today will remove the Stem from the order to get the rest sent. I'll then be able to choose another Stem up to the same original value and get a £5 gift voucher off its price for my trouble. I should point out at the point the Stem I've ordered is on 50% discount from £59.99, So whatever I order I'll be getting it for £25.
Lets see eh - update promised later today so I'll keep you informed.....
Ordered some bolts for £2 and they came within 36hrs. I also received some free high 5 energy gels with my order. Sweeeet!
Never had any problems with CRC. Always use them.
Buy from your local bike shop and support local trade then if they have it in stock you get it same day 🙂
Also if we don't support them they may not be around when you need them for last minute bits like spare tubes.
The problem with the big players such as CRC is that because they have such a massive customer base, that unsatisfied are arrogantly ignored as they are a small percentage of a huge number. the drones in the factory probably never get to experience that bad customer feedback which in turn doesn't encourage them to pull a digit out and do their jobs correctly. Buy local and forget these number crunching egotists.
Just to add a little perspective on this - you guys in the UK don't know how lucky you are!!
Here in Oz we're still stuck in the dark ages as far as bike retailing is concerned, and I'd love to have the amazing choice, free postage, fast turnaround, no quibble returns, and low prices that you enjoy from CRC and others.
They seem to have had a bad week then. I wonder if loads of the staff went down with the flu or something? There's a lot of it going round right now. I'm sure they'd think to put an announcement on their site if it was a large enough problem. Or maybe we're just the few that got lost in the cracks?
I was waiting on an order that started showing up as out of stock after I'd bought. Inbetween then and now I've ordered something else that was an approx 48hr from order to dispatch. I emailed them to cancel the original order if they were indeed out of stock and I'd order new ones that were in stock. I just checked my account and they've dispatched finally. I have two posties cards to redeem later.
Placed 2 order within the last week both delivered within 48 hours, well strictly speaking the second is one it's way back to the sorting office as I didn't wake when the posit knocked. So CRC were prompt and as ever Royal Mail too people love to rant if something doesn't go how they want.
I ordered some items from them and it took like two weeks and I still don't have anything but I emailed them and they said they would refund the item that went out of stock and also gave me an e voucher because of the long wait. So I'm not really too fussed about it, they have given me a voucher and have sent it now so can't really complain about the service.
Also I think because of the easter holidays when they were closed for a few days might have had something to do with it.
Ordered stuff last Thursday 1pm. Paid for next day delivery. My order didn't arrive until today.
No replies to emails. Phone lines shut at 3pm on Friday and couldn't get through on Monday/Tuesday.
I won't be using them again.
been ok with me but nothing spectacular- surely we just go based on price and you loose some customer service at these price points?

From my last order, one item wasn't delivered, and another still hasn't turned up, 3 weeks after it was supposed to be back in stock.
