Can anyone confirm please - shimano install guide says HG Super-Narrow chain - is this 3/32 (8 speed) or narrower? As my experiences of shimano chains have been pants, I'll be using another brand, probably Wipperman or SRAM.

You'd think wider chains would last longer, I'd go 1/8" if possible.

I use a thick, strong non-ramped chain on my Alfine 8.
Running for years now, and never breaks.
Surely not using a Shimano 'cheese' chain is one of the major benefits of an Alfine!

If the 11 speed uses the same sprockets as the 8 speed and nexus, then I'd use a Nexus or BMX chain.
