Using a 2x10 set up and i get chain rub if in big ring and first gear and also small ring and top gear.

Its rubbing on the front mech, is it worth trying to dial it out or am i wasting my time as it might just not be possible?

just avoid big/big small/small gear combos - it's not very mechanically efficient bending the chain that much anyway?

My new touring bike has a friction shifter for the front mech (triple chainring) which is brilliant for tweaking to get rid of chain rub. I think it would be a great idea for a double set up - no brainer changing, but adjustability too...?

My front mech is for a triple, i wonder if there is much difference in getting a double specific mech.

It would be nice to be able to use big ring and 1st rather than having to change off to the smaller ring.

I thought part of the reson to change to doubel set up was the ability to use all 10 rear gears.

It is true you can set up a double so you can use all the gears on both rings, but tbh if it's working fine otherwise just don't use those gears.
