sorry to drag this one up again BUT i'm threaders with

OILS
SOLVENTS
LUBES

Or whatever they are called, just found out that PURPLE EXTREME lasts no more than 10 miles in the dry, any one who's getting the 400 claimed mileage please tell me your secret because it dry's out on the chain faster than any other product i've used,

SQUIRT, i cant get on with that at all,

ROCK n ROLL is about the best to be fair, but i'm currently using 3 In 1 oil and getting silent chain, smooth shifting and more applications as its cheap and readily available,

I know water in the winter aids lubrication and many of these solvents rely on this but the dry weathers been a right torment for my chain this summer,

Winter i use putoline wax on the peak stove in the garage so i'm aright there, who's using that in the summer months ?

I'm still using the Putoline, bloomin excellent in all conditions. Doesn't gather dust like most lubes can as it's so solid.

I think you could probably find something else to do as good a job with less hassle in summer though, squirt does a good job most of the time (it's just disasterously awful with certain types of mud)

I use tf2 performance with Teflon - really great washes of after a long wet ride but I reapply each clean anyway, dosnt gunk up and best thing is its £12.99 for 1 ltr refill at crc

Quite like White Lightning Clean Ride but if you didn't like Squirt, you won't like Clean Ride probably.

I got motorcycle chain wax spray from Lidl's once and I just wish I could find some more but it seems they don't often do it.

I use Green Oil / Stihl BioLube (which I also use as the guidebar lube for my saw too) and it works fine (or certainly appears to work fine) both summer and winter. I like it / them because anything that washes off, just degrades harmlessly over time, rather than spotting drops of petrochemicals over the land - that it / they work is a bonus.
