[Closed] Chain jumping off middle chainring

[#2837190]

I have a 3x9 gear setup on my hardtail. All SLX apart form the chainset, which is raceface Deus XC. I have an ongoing problem with the chain jumping off the middle chainring and on to the granny ring when heavily torqued or pedalling wilst riding fast over very rough ground - which is annoying, and in some situations, dangerous. All the transmission, apart from cranks & chainrings, is brand new - I had this problem before replacing it, too.

I replaced the middle chain ring about 8 months ago with a TA ring, which has since had a tooth bent and subsequently hammered flat.

Anyone had this prob before? Is it a front mech alignment issue? Do I need to replace the chainring? Is this symptomatic of frame distortion?

Any advice appreciated.

thanks

Chain too slack so not being held in place by the mech springs?

I don't think so, it happens across the cassette.

At a guess its either a worn middle ring or the front much cage isn't parallel to the rings.
