Im looking at running single speed on the front and 7 speed on the back

it is recommended for 9-10 speed on the back but will it still work with 7 speed.
i will be using a 42t chain ring.
also how will it mount ?

I imagine it would work, but there will probably be alot more chain rubbing due to the fact that 7spd chains are thicker.
It mounts behind the bottom bracket which holds it in place.

as i am putting this on instead of a triple chain ring will i need new cranks or can i use the ones off the triple chain ring ?
