Just built a summer season from bits in the shed, 1x9 with a 100-140mm fork. It's great fun, usualy ride a singlespeed with rigid or 80mm fork so it's a bit different.
Problem is the chain comes off too much on the downs, short cage mech with short chain. So thought as the frame had guide mounts would fit a guide. Found a e.thirteen LS1 at a good price, but it doesn't seem to fit with the old hollowtech LX chainset and 34t unramped chainring. To have the top guide as close as the instructions say to the chain the spider/bolts/chainring combo are too thick.
Do I need a different crankset? or am I being thick!
