depends from whom, specification and cost.

Just replaced my HT2 from CRC for just over £13, does it get cheaper than that ?

there's lot of different grades of ceramic balls, and the quality of races is important. seals also. i haven't yet seen a cheap bb that lasts nearly as well as Hope (stainless or ceramic) for example. though i haven't tried many. you can get Hope stainless for £55 if you shop around. how cheap is this chinese ceramic? how much is your time worth changing BBs?

BB are a doddle to replace Hope I agree are good and thats what I got on my other bike and the Missis bike No complaints but fancied a ceramic for the road bike. May be better to save a while longer and get a Ceramic hope as at least you can replace the bearings in them.

should be able to replace bearings equally easily in most bbs (only Shimano have the anti-knockout lip afaik).
which is a good argument for getting a cheap BB.

I tried a GUB BB from Hong Kong.
Main problem was it was the wrong size! My frame has a 68mm shell, s I fitted all 3 spacers, but the cranks didn't fit. Had to fit it with only 1 spacer for it to work, so if it had been 73mm shell, it wouldn't have fitted!
And it creaked like a whore's bedframe within about a week, but that could have been to do with being fitted wrong initially.

Bought one of the Gub ones and noticed that about the 1 spacer which was not a problem.Opened it all up first to find it was really dry.
Quick email to kaesae and some ceramic grease arrived on my doorstep(top bloke) 🙂
Runs as sweet as ****.....

Yeh had a issue with a chain once a quick email and new one arrived pretty soon after. For the sake of £40 I will give it a go and just stress its a standard 68mm shell.

Get a hope SS one and replace the bearings with Ceramic when the time comes (warning may be a VERY long time)
