[Closed] Centrelock lockring (15mm axle) - Will this fit?

[#8299607]

I just got hold of some DT Swiss Spline wheels with centrelock for fittings.
They didn't come with the lockrings and the ones that came with the rotors are the cassette tool size which don't work on the 15mm front axle.
I need something like the Shimano HB20 lockrings, but I was wondering if the ones that come with XT hubs will work as they are available for half the price.

So has anyone used something like this on a non-XT hub? They look identical but thought it was worth checking just in case.

It's a Shimano standard so should work fine as far as I know. The lockrings are supplied with rotors rather than hubs usually (but yeah, not the oversize ones for 15mm etc).

Did the wheel not come with an IS (6 bolt) adapter? That has the lockring.

p.s. Get an outer BB wrench to do it up, not one of those chunky BB tools you attach to a socket style wrench etc as they can't get enough grip on the lockring in my experience.

Hollowtech2 BB tool will do it up.

I had the same issue with Bontrager affinity comp road wheels. Although they were only 9mm qr hubs, the fact that they were changeable to 12/15mm meant that the standard Shimano centerlock ring wouldn't fit over the rear axle at all and, even though it would fit over the front axle, the tool wouldn't.
Luckily, Bontrager supply the lockrings that you linked to, with the wheels.
The next issue, that I had, was that the front lock ring was about 2 fag papers thicker than it needed to be, to avoid the brake caliper mouunting 'bulges' on the fork.
After a bit of head scratching, I found that the lockring on this...

...is thinner, and provided loads of clearance, so I'd go with these - despite the waste.

Just make sure you've got one of these...

All DT's centrelock wheels are supposed come with 6-bolt adaptors that each include a 15mm friendly lockring.

If yours haven't I'd have a word with the shop.

Thanks all, it's the 2016 wheelset which according to the DT catalogue don't come with the adaptors.

Anyone had any that have come with them? I'll talk to the shop either way as it seems they took the tubeless valves out.
From RCZ bike shop so got a very good deal but a bit annoying if they should be packaged.

Their web site says they come with "Centerlock/IS adapter". That will have the lock ring with it as it has to be the bigger outer style one to work with the adapter.

Certainly did with my cheapy (2016) M1900, though that was a front wheel only not set, but came with everything except the tubeless rim tape, which oddly apparently isn't supplied if ordered as a single wheel but is supplied as a wheel set.

I saw that for the new ones but the 2016 catalogue shows the Spline One as not coming with an adapter whilst the cheaper 1700 and 1900 do.
Bit odd.

Previous Spline One wheels didn't come with 6-bolt adaptors as they had 6-bolt hubs. Current generation have lighter Centrelock hubs, and come with 6-bolt adaptors - mine did. Sounds like yours are OEM ones rather than aftermarket ones.

They should come with rotor adaptors, tubeless tape, valve stems and both Shimano and XD free hub bodies if they are proper aftermarket items.

Yeah just looked again at the catalogue and noticed that they were all 6-bolt.
OEM would explain some of the price differential but I've emailed the shop to clarify.

There were a few empty bags in with the wheels so I did wonder if something had been removed.

Thanks for your help.
