Anyone suggest some trails in the central belt that won't be too killer on the climbs(not the fittest guy)?
Any ideas appreciated.

chris - I posted this on the other thread too....

have you ridden anything in the Pentlands? They are pretty dry at the moment (although we'll see what this weekend brings). There's nowhere you "need" full-sus but lots of folk take one anyway (especially if it's their only bike, eh?). There are a couple of hard climbs but you can make a decent loop by avoiding these and still have a good ride out.

I can send you some ideas or would be happy to meet up and show you around a bit if you want.

How are you at grid references or would you prefer a map? ๐Ÿ™‚

Bonaly is good. I can come up with something with a few wee hills that would start and end there.

If you're heading up from Bonaly, going straight up hill from the car park is a bit of a killer, hence it being nicknamed Puke Hill. Take a right there, and you can follow the trail around the two reservoirs and towards Kirkgate (the road that goes up from Currie Kirk). Left there, and then up towards Maiden's Cleugh. You can then drop down the back there to Glencorse, and then take a right once you hit the road to follow a loop towards Threipmuir, and then eventually Harlaw. From Harlaw it's road back to Kirkgate and just return the way you came.

Probably about 12 miles all in, but a good loop on varied terrain with no real killer climbs.
