So he has got the awards, medals, wins and £millions in the bank...

Just noticed local kids riding their bikes outside in the rain, they are racing each other, the winner gets to be Cavendish! They are even stooping low over their bars on their mountain bikes to get that classic Cav low profile look!

I remember having a race as a kid and trying to copy the Tour de France riders sprinting with their bikes wobbling from side to side...it was carnage. Only thing i remember after the pile up was seeing someones front wheel roll off down the road 😀

Peter Collins was a partington lad like me, I used to watch him train in the early days on a right ropey old rough track just across the road from the gas works !!

Me too(well maybe I was a bit older)!Me & my mate used to work for his dad selling the Speedway mail there every week in the early '80's

+1 Peter Collins, remember watching his brother phil (i think) race grass track when I was a kid, he fell off in the final and i cried!!

Whatever happened to them?
