Just came up on my twitter feed. Signed a 3 year deal apparently.

Nothing to do with the sky "just say no" campaign I hope.

DD, you're my hero. 😀

It was only a matter of time before it was confirmed.

I had a similar first thought to onzadog, rather unfortunate timing of the announcement. Fingers and toes crossed it's a coincidence, I think Cav is great.

Back on Spesh, which he always wanted. Boonen and Cav together though... not so sure.

I'd imagine Boonen will concentrate on the classics while Cav will get his team for the Tour.

I'm sure it won't be long before Bernhard Eisel follows him over too.

This has been brewing for a while I think, so nothing dope based I would have thought.

No clash with Boonen either, Cav will focus on the points jersey in grand tours and the odd 1 day race, Boonen will be used as a classics rider I would imagine.

Defo an unfortunate coincidence. More to do with Specialized than anything drug related.

I don't think Eisel will be going, I thought he signed a contract extension a short while ago (after Cav said he'd be moving on).

There was talk of Sky changing to Specialized before they resigned with Pinarello. I wonder what would've happened to Cav had that had gone through?

Right move for him i think, especially with the big races and wanting to be in green. Awsome.

Boonen will be a passable lead out man I suppose.

Boonen for classics and leadouts.
Martin for one week tours and TTs.
Cav for GT sprints, looking a pretty decent team.

Expected him to go to Katusha myself, still he's a good fit here.

Cav's not aiming for Paris-Roubaix, Flanders, Amstel Gold, Fleche Wallone etc - which are Boonen's primary objectives.

Boonen ain't aiming for Green Jersey at the Tour or Giro either..

Cav has a personal sponsorship deal with Spec that Sky were having to buy out whilst he rode with them. Him going to OM has been open secret for a while, along with JTLs move to Sky (what with him training with the Tour squad this spring...).
