Whoops. Thanks. Sorry.
Drillski, you do know that 'news item' is a work of fiction?
fantastic 😀
I've also had police suggest that my flatmates and I go and give a kid who burgled us a good kicking. As he obviously knew where we lived it seemed like a possible never ending cycle of beatings tho.
nope, didn't realise, (even though it seemed a stretch even for the american justice system,) it was forwarded to me a few days ago on a seperate issue, but a like a good fictional joke, it makes you smile a little!
Seriuously though, yes, mob justice is rarely a good idea.
Well done the chaps for doing the right thing.
On an interesting note, regarding the large number of chaps that collared him, I wonder how the end to this story might have read if he had been pursued by a sole rider.....?
If he does get convicted dont expect anything major.
I had a Santa Cruz bullit taken along with TV, laptop and lots of other nice toys. Had only finished building it the week before. Bike was locked to bike stand in dinning room on first floor. Locked it up inside as the charming door to door tree surgeons were staring in the windows when i returned home once.
The **** was caught (Nicholas Andrews was his name) and admitted this and other break ins. He got 18 month suspended sentence. When the police phoned to tell me they said he had basicaly got away with it. This was in Farnborough Hampshire.
I'm sure the desire to batter him must have been almost too much to bear...
Are people really this violent?
Scapegoat, sorry was otherwise engaged with real life. No NCIS as Special Agent Gibbs is ex-Marine Corps and the Hoo Raa is specific to them.
Guys, i'll probably get a lot of flack but i would have battered the little ****er and not bothered with the Police.
Problem is these thieves don't see the police as a deterrent - they now how to play the system and if they get locked up its a holiday.
But a bit of a slap - thats the only thing they respect.
If i catch the thieves who had my Evil away from my garage a couple of weeks ago i will deal with it myself - the words out and sooner or later....
Just take in mind folks that the thieves read the forums - its a good way to see who's going were and on what bike etc.
This comes from two family coppers who have both dealt with bike thefts - be careful!!!
Your are right a very good kicking would indeed have made him consider the error of his ways, turned him into a law abiding citizen who would never ever break the law...who knew it was so simple?
So what you say in be careful....have you considered this in respect of posting up that you will batter people and you are looking for them? it does seem to incriminate you a little if the day ever arrives when you take the law into your own hands, by which i mean act illegally and as a criminal.
by which i mean act illegally and as a criminal.
Who's this criminal that I need to seek out and kick the crap out of to teach the little scummer a lesson?
It's within you let the inner criminal out it is the only way to teach crims right from wrong. Surley everyone knows two wrongs make a right.
Guys, i'll probably get a lot of flack but i would have battered the little ****er and not bothered with the Police.
No mate - I think dredging up a 2 month dead thread to prove your internet hardman status is well justified. I want to be like you.
*swoon*
Bah, I thought we were going to get some followup to the actual crime. 🙁
But yes, +1 on the need to be cautious about the "this is my gert lush bike and this is where I live and keep it" stuff.
Once caught a scumbag in my van after he'd smashed the window to get in. In the ensuing scuffle trying to apprehend him, I gave him a knee in the nads but then he pulled a screwdriver out, fortunately I was able to relieve him of it and frogmarched him to the security office where they'd been watching things unfold on CCTV. Bottom line is police came took him away (still moaning about the knee in the nads) but nothing came of it, so what's the point, just let anybody take what they want, it's pointless getting wound up about it. Just don't go through a speed camera at 34 or your goin' darn.
I think you need to complain to the courts about repeat offenders being let go repeatedly. The police, who see much more of it, are probably even more pissed off than you are, but mostly not allowed to say anything.
Whilst getti[u]ng my mtb off my roofrack today my neighbor rolls up and starts the pleasantries about where I've been (CYB) good ride an all that, anyway he's high up in North Wales Police and mentioned how bike thefts are fast increasing and how a gang from Manchester have been traveling around stealing bike's from trial centres like CYB and also targeting homes, they have caught some and recovered some bike's by them being spotted on eBay, but not that many, the theifs are attracted by the large increase in expensive mtb, so be extra vigilant from now on folks.
Justice = community service if no records,or suspended sentence ,break his hands, one in the spokes and the other in the chainring (he fell right)then go to work with hex keys ect(use imagagination)dont call cops dont call ambulance oh and i forgot ,thats why you should have internally powdred latex gloves in you pack .
tootall - take it you've not had thieves break into your garage when your daughter is asleep in her bed above while its going on then?
It Kinda pisses you off.
And your put down of me(on a two month old post) stinks of an internet hardman!
