been building up a kona jake the snake for a 44 mile round trip commute. some way off finishing yet. got frame, forks, brakes, seatpost, saddle, bars. still need decent wheels, rear mech, STI combos, bottom bracket, chain, cassette, possibly better crankset, bar tape and all cables.
ive just this morning paid off my cyclescheme bike from last year.
so.........do i carry on 'bitting and bobbing' off the classifieds, trying to find half decent stuff cheap?
or go for it again and get a decent cross/road bike and pay for it over a year with tax breaks?
think id only do the cyclescheme for the right bike tho, and i dont think id find a singular or such like for less than a grand. so.........carry on? (have i answered my own question??)
cheers
Cyclescheme only really stacks up properly if you are 40% tax payer and your company pays VAT. IMHO of course.
But then again, I'm not sure building a bike up using parts from the classifieds stacks up either.
SH complete bikes off the classifieds are a different kettle of bananas though.
Oh and I've done all three - at least twice each ๐ฅ
