So I finally got round to starting the upgrades on my Daughter's Blast today.

I built this for her brother about 4 years ago and she's not long grown into it.

When I first got it it looked like this:

A strip, powder coat and a few upgrades later it looked like this:

Daughter was keen to get in on the action and learn a few thing so she helped out.
Started stripping it down:

Black is so last year.....

New colour scheme:

30t with a nice alloy bash guard.

New wheels (which have sat in the garage for 12 months.....)

Should be a nice upgrade over the standard wheels.

Final spec will be:
1*10 SLX/Saint drive train 11-42t
30t n/w with Superstar alloy bash
Shimano M365 hydraulic brakes with Purple Superstar 160 rotors
Stan's Crest on Superstar hubs with Schwalbe Black Jack tyres
X-Fusion HiLo Dropper with Madison youth trail saddle

And plenty of other purple bits!

Will update as we progress over the week - plan to get it done for a weekend ride.

Not sure whether to stick with yellow outers for gears/dropper or switch to black.

Keeping the original saddle there dirkpitt? I kept meaning to change it but both my kids said it was quite comfy.

I stopped short of a proper 24 wheelset but I reckon the 10 or 11sp drivetrain will be a big improvement on MTB rides. 1x7 a bit small on the ratios on the orignal wheels IME.

RST F1rst air forks, 1x10 SLX, avid disc brakes, Sun singletrack on superstar hub rear and Shimano front with rocket rons, truvativ carbon bars, same cranks as OP. No dropper though.

@Garry_Lager I have a Madison Youth Trail saddle to go on when I fit the dropper.

@forfivesixfiftyb they're from AMAZON and 152mm length.
Will have to check but I think it's a 116mm BB.

You can usually get those cranks on Amazon, last set I bought were from one of the German sites, bikester I think.

Can't remember the bb length though.

He didn't ride it a huge amount - probably about 20 times in all.

On the plus side it has meant I haven't had to strip and recoat it.
