Is a carbon seatpost any good on a steel hardtail , I thought they slipped and would I gain anymore comfort from one ?????

Use the special carbon paste to hold it securely. And yes, you should feel a little more "give".

I changed from a carbon post on my Cotic and it was not as smooth, bloody uncomfortable infact, back to carbon for me

Some carbon seat posts are going for £20 on Planet X website and also On-One store (adjustable tilt ones are £20 and 260grams).

I have a superstar carbon post (bargain from the classifieds) on my Genesis io and I have had no probs with it slipping. It is way more comfortable than the original post and I want another one for when I get my Pompino.
