Looking for a carbon seatpost with that lovely carbon weave. Needs to be inline.
Any recommendations please? Would really prefer to see before I buy.
Thank you so much. 🙂
think you can see the weave on my Specialized Pave one
njee20 give one of those to me please to test for you and I'll let you know how I get on with it. Ta.
🙂
A plastic post with something to take the sting out of the tail (reduce the effects of stiff seat post syndrome).

Exotic and Superstar do them too come to think of it!

How can I refuse an offer like that!? 😉
I've got 27.2, 30.9, 31.6 and 34.9s if you want to buy one!
Buy? BUY? It's me you're talking to!
I don't buy things; people give me things because I'm nice. 🙂
How much anyway?
Can do them for £130, £35 cheaper than Wiggle!
😯
They're only 130g, £1/g, bargain!
USE alien has got a nice matt weave. Bit fragile though.

I've got a 350g Truvativ post you can have if you want, I can undercut you and do 80p/g. Bargain!
The carbon Ritchey posts?
The use sumo is good, nice and carboney and the head is miles better than the alian head, got one on the wifes bike that's done three ironmans with no problems
The carbon Ritchey posts?
They're all layback sadly, as they're good posts, and would have been my recommendation.
My other half uses the Easton EC 90, can't fault it for its weight and extra comfort factor taking our some of the trail buzz on the hard tail.
Thanks for all the replies. 🙂
Can I go into bimbo mode please? Have never used a carbon seatpost before, tend to use Thomson, so will there be any noticeable difference?
njee - thanks and could well be interested.
I saw a pic of some carbon bars with the carbon weave - anyone know where they come from?
Thank you so much. 8)
That clamp on the New Ultimate scares me. I'd break that pretty swiftly I think........ 🙂

I've gone from a Thomson to an Easton EC70 CNT seatpost on my hardtail; it's added a considerable degree of comfort - really does take the buzz out of the trail. It is more than noticeable.

Only when sitting down, and even then it's not night and day, just a dullness/deadness feeling from the seatpost.
so will there be any noticeable difference?
Yes it'll be noticeably comfier and you'll also have to buy some Carbon component installation compound. Do not use regular (hydrocarbon) grease.
When I swapped EC90 for Thomson I had the feeling of anal abuse dished out at my anus. Will go the other way next year I hope.
There's no "weave" layer on the Easton posts.
I've been using a Superstar post on the Onion and it's been just fine (after applying some tape over the gash logos).
FSA do bars with a carbon weave.

90kg weight limit PP, which (with all due respect!) I fear you may be approaching!? I thought I'd break it too, but didn't manage to! Stem's not snapped either yet.
Easton posts always used to have a 3k layer, except the EC90 layback which had a 1k weave like the old EC90 bars, you may be able to get an old one if they've changed.

Approaching??? Passed and left behind, I'd say! 😀
Sorry PP that's very unkind of me... 😳
njee20, those posts are stupid price!
These are virtually identical and a third of the cost.
Bearing in mind that this is purely for 'blingness' with CG! 😀
Have to say the newer Eastons look a bit cheap now that they're just plain black. I know the weave is just a cosmetic layer, but it looks much nicer than plain matt black. Looks more 'carbony'.
will there be any noticeable difference?
Pfft. Carbon is supposedly better at absorbing vibration than alloy, but I've used carbon, alloy and Ti posts and never really noticed the difference. The saddle would absorb far more. I spose on a super-rigid racing bike with a really firm saddle, you might 'notice' the difference, but on a mtb with fat tyres?
Bearing in mind Elaine only weighs about 3 bags of sugar, I think the USE Alien carbon post is sufficiently bling, and actually quite 'pretty' too:
