I've had trouble getting my seatpost to stay put - all sorted now with carbon paste (alloy frame and post)and a thomson seat clamp tightened to beyond spec'ed tension. Will I kill a carbon post if I get one and need to tighten the clamp up to similar tension? I'm guessing not as presume the issue with needing to tighten it up is the frame....
Correct me if I'm wrong before I buy one and die

I had similar issues but fitted a double seatpost clamp like this one.
