ok I bought a selle italia slr fibra (with carbon rails)

I didnt realise that carbon rails are generally over sizes.

this didnt fit my post.

what post are a good fit (I'm already worried about carbon rails so the fit must be perfect)

I believe thompson & kcnc fit? (they are bloody expensive tho)

I've run mine on an fsa, an easton ea70 and a kcnc. All fine. Why didn't it fit your post? What was wrong?

its a race face xc with the side clamp, then I ordered a cheap £20 easton but the rails are too narrow.

my other kcnc post clamp seems to fit (but its the wrong size post)

the rails are wider if they are carbon.

There's a sticky thread on Weight Weenies (could be the MTB forum) about 9mm saddle rails with a list of seatposts that work. A number of manufacturers do aftermarket heads to fit (USE & Bontrager spring to mind).

I like how you've bought a £100 saddle, but a £50 seatpost is 'bloody expensive' 🙂
