[Closed] Carbon fork crown race question

so my new taoered forks came today and the crown race is rather tight. I was wondering wether or not to a) smash it on with some tubing b) cut a slot in the crown race or c) get LBS to do it
What do you think? Its a carbon steerer btw

[edit] if you do put a bit of grease on it make sure it's carbon freindly.
