Thinking of getting a Carbon fibre hard tail frame - any recommendations or are they still too prone to breaking on first impact with anything solid?
Yep. It'll likely shatter into a million pieces as soon as you sit astride it.
Carbon 456 is pretty well proven, I've seen a couple of broken/damaged ones but then, I've seen a few broken steel ones too. I'm reasonably sure some of the knocks mine has taken would have dented a metal frame.
Not totally happy with it though, the handling just isn't really quite to my taste, somehow it feels a lot longer than it is. But still, it's superb value and a good honest frame.
