Second hand Scott Scale Carbon 29'er...non drive drop out may have had damage when I got it. ย However last night I had a 'hard stop' against a tree stump. ย Got back on and the bike was harder to pedal. ย Wheel out of alignment. ย I eventually got the qr to clamp everything straight and pedaled home fine, but appears that the drop out is missing some vertical length.
So....try a diy or the likes of fibrelyte to fix?
Thanks.
You could try this if attempting DIY - it's quite runny so you'll probably need to create some sort of mould, but once dried it's rock solid and easy to file / sand to desired shape - it will even polish-up to look like carbon.
I've used it to repair chunks out of carbon rims / modded a CX frame to take mudguards and built a GPS mount for my racing kayak out of some carbon steerer tube cut-offs that gets a firm whack from my paddle now and again.
Not sure if it's convenient, (Cheshire?),ย but give Phil a ring at Target Composites if you want a proper job doing on it?
