Happy on the inbred i have but have a little money and was thinking fo going for another scandal (had one awhile back) to save a little weight, then saw the current carbon 456 offer. Everyone raves about the scandal as a race bike but a lot of folk reckon its not so good with 130mm forks. having checked the geometries of both frames the 456 has a .5 degree slacker head and a few mm short tt. Would the 456 also make a good bike for enduros etc at 100mm whilst being alot more capable and better handing at 130-140 mm. the current 100-130 revs will go on the new frame if i buy one.

cheers

I think the head angle on the 456 was calculated assuming a longer fork. So it might be steeper with the same fork? Some one who knows will be along in a minute

For a given fork length the head angle is the same on both frames.

Get a 29er Scandal and put some 80-100mm forks on it. Excellent enduro bike.

Ah I see - yeah, it's a bit of an investment and not really worth it if you have a load of 26er parts around.
