Love this idea and think it would really work well on the road

Let's hope they come into production soon!
won't work. black road surfaces don't reflect even medium power lasers very well. Especially when you plant a modern car headlight over the top. I've tried it with lower class lasers, anything high enough to see would be illegal to waft around.
Please tell me you tried lasers on sharks. ๐
This is a good compromise- I like mine.
This does raise something that interests me- why don't cycles have indicators and brake lights? It would put us on a par with other traffic (except pedestrians) It wouldn't seem to be a hard thing to create/design - why hasn't someone done it? Perhaps people wouldn't use them....
There are bike lights with indicators in them:

Of course, they only work if you have been seen in the first place!
I think theres potential for the laser system above. Sure there would be a way of getting it to work, even if it was with another light source rather than lasers.
Joe, is yours laser? Does it light up the road well?
Yup, they are lasers. Show up fairly well, but dependent on the road surface. Look for big_f_d_d on ebay.
The rear ones seem pointless to me, might give peace of mind, but doesn't seem to do anything with respect to how cars and bicycles typically hit each other. The front facing blaze one seems to have some potential though.
I've seen indicator units with a brake light in too. Just a switch that gets pressed when the V-brake arms squeeze together.
I guess if they save just one life, then its a good idea.
Think a lazer showing a danger zone on the ground, around a cyclist, might be a better idea than an indicator system?
Is there any more video's of them in action?

The idea has been tried - I saw some lights about 15 years ago that had a built in brake light and also some indicators linked to a switch on the bars. They were RUBBISH. A bike is too narrow for indicators to work properly unless they're stuck out on arms.
Brake lights are an OK idea but more difficult to make work with flashing rear lights that are so common now. Cyclists have managed for decades without them, why introduce extra complexity now? Thin end of a wedge anyway, there will always be the militant vocal minoity who say that now we've got brake lights we should have number plates/pay "road tax"/blahblah
why don't cycles have indicators and brake lights?
or seatbelts or ashtrays? ๐
We've got cup holders on down tubes!
Limited use round town I would think too low and will be obscured by other vehicles in heavier traffic. Reckon its more use in the countryside / on less densely trafficed roads.
Round town something reflective or glowing at car window height would be more use especially for side visibility.

i know we could even attach some kind of motor, we could call it a motorbike ๐
