Anyone got a 2018 Spectral and can comment on sizing? Got my eye on one and did the sizing thing they have on their website, which reckons that my short in-seam relative to height (77cm vs 170 cm) means I'd be better off with a small than a medium. Current bike is a medium but has a similar seat tube length vs the small Spectral (432 mm vs 425 mm.
You'd probably be fine in either. Do you prefer a longer or shorter bike?
I think I'd probably lean towards a shorter bike as one of my criteria for the new bike is something more playful and poppy than my current bike (14 Heckler). Coming from an 09 Stumpy the Heckler was a lot more difficult to manual/wheelie/bunnyhop, which I think was partly due to being longer and partly being heavier. It's great going downhill, but would like something that'll help the uphills be a bit more fun too.
Don't have the Spectral but for what it's worth the Canyon online sizing tool spat out the same "You would normally be on a medium if it wasn't for short in-seam..." advice for me and I went with the medium and haven't looked back. Granted this was a CX bike but I'd go medium.
Their calculator seems very sensitive to inseam measurements, wife got the same when looking at bikes. Go med and put shorter stem on it.
