I've been looking at the 29er hardtails from Canyon and am very tempted to order one but I'm a litte unsure on the sizing.
Their size calculator thing has me on a medium - I'm 6'2'' with a 34'' inseam so I will chose to ingnore that recommendation.
Looking at the geo data the ETT seem to come up quite short - is this how they ride, or am i missing something?
If anyone out there is about my size and has any experince with the Canyon 29ers your comments and help would be appreciated.
I'm interested in this too.
I'm 6'5" and would be after an XL. But the TT is 10mm shorter than the On One Scandal 29er I had (before it got nicked), and I felt that was only just long enough with the seat set right back on a layback post, and a 100mm stem. Anyone else got an opinion? Anyone got an XL Canyon in Edinburgh to have a sit on?
Not 29ers but I was recommended a small strive despite being 5'10.. I bought a medium and I'm really happy with the fit.
I'm 189cm with pretty long legs, went for a large nerve AM in the end. Fits great.
I tend to ignore sizing guides when buying online or ebay and just compare the geo and size to something you can sit on or own. It might be nerdy, but I tend to chuck all the facts and figures spreadsheet or table for easy comparison. Obviously one persons 6' will be differently proportioned to another's.

I'm 6ft 5, there's a thread on here of me asking the same question. Ignored the online sizing guide, phoned Canyon UK and they confirmed an XL was the one for me, and they were right, fantastic fitting bike, the most at home I feel on any bike. My 26" full bouncer (XL Meta 5) feels tiny by comparison.
Andyl46, that's really helpful, many thanks. What did you go for and are you happy with it?
not sure if the sizing calc works on the 29ers... I was fiddling around and seemed to always get a medium. I'm just under 6foot so reckon a large would be right for me based on the geometry measurements
Went for last year's 8.9, liked it so much I have a carbon version on order that should be here in 4 weeks. Very capable bike, you need to change the way you ride a little, using the momentum you can keep up to your advantage to blast rocky and rooty sections, and using the grip to keep up speed in turns.
I upgraded the wheels to Stans Crests on superstar Switch hubs to save a good chunk of weight, and stuck on my Easton carbon bars, seatpost and alu stem to save some weight, along with an XT cassette. I love the thing, and most who have tried have liked it, even if its been a bit on the big side for them. Oh, and stuck on Fox forks as I didn't get on with the DT swiss ones that came fitted. The DT's were super stiff and direct, but I just couldn't get them set up to a good balance of small bump absorption and sag.
