I’ve been looking for a bike for my son and he chose a Grand Canyon 24 for his birthday. After he gets his heart set on it I go back on 24 hrs later and they have increased their prices by over 30%! I email to query no reply, live chat they just say tough! No suggestion that prices would go up etc.

i don’t want to spend more than 550 anyone recommend a decent 24” for a 10 year old?

To be honest, at 10 years old you should be looking at an XS/13in adult bike, not 24in. He’ll very very rapidly be too tall for it, unless he’s well below average height.

Orbea kids bikes are great and well within your budget

Orbea ftw.

Really nicely setup on the smaller frame sized options.

When I was looking at a Canyon HT a few years ago the price would change every couple of days due to the exchange rate. 30% seems like a huge rise though unless they've set the price for the next 6-12 months

To be fair to Canyon I have been looking at the same bike for a while and there was loads of warning that prices were going back up after the get ready for summer promotion.

Have you looked at the Saracen Mantra 2.4? Ace little bike. If you speak nicely to your local dealer I'm sure you could get one for £550.

Canyon have had a sale on their kids bikes for a bit, it may have finished now.

Xs 26 inch at 10.... The average 10 year old being 4 ft 6. Will have a while to wait to get on it let alone comfortable unless he is well above average height.

My son got a Pinnacle Kauri 26 when he was 9. Fitted OK. He's 10 now and it fits just fine. 24 would have been way too small.

Spectral 2018 hasn't changed price since its been on the site, so not sure about canyon putting their prices up 30%

Still decent value money in my opinion and hard to beat the spec for price point

I'm looking at a speedmax which hasn't budged.

Just got my son an Orbea mx24, fitted a shorter stem and tubeless Ron's and he's loving it. He's only just 7 and 129cm.
