Can anyone advise me on what the process is for ordering from canyon?

Do I order the bike then pay when it's ready to be shipped as that's what appears to be the case on the website but I'm not 100% sure?

I ordered mine a couple of months ago and they haven't taken the money yet. I tihnk they do a wee check to see if you have the funds though.

They take the cash around 10ish days before shipping if memory serves...

Order bike with credit card details and then they take the money from the card on the same day that it is built/shipped. I think if you pay by bank transfer they notify you the bike is being built and ask for the money then ship it once the funds are received.

I was hoping to order on a different card to what I actually pay on (long story!) So I was wondering of they notify you when the bike is built so I can ring them with my other card details.

My experience:

1. Place order
2. Receive confirmation
3. Wait
4. Send them an email on the Friday of "delivery" week.
5. Get an "Oh, it'll be another 4 weeks" email
6. Send peeved response pointing out that they would have known this for weeks, and could have let me know.
7. No response
8. Wait some more
9. Resolve to cancel order if they don't deliver this time (end of next week).
...to be continued...

Mine was delivered in about 10 days after ordering but then it was an in stock model. For what you want to do you're best of contacting Canyon and asking if they can contact you when the payment is due so you can give them different card details, they're usually quite obliging.

I did my measurements yesterday to see what frame size I need and got a medium. (I am 6ft 1 and average build) Redid them this morning and it says I am a large! How have people found the sizing guide with Canyon? I have a large c456 at the moment but would maybe prefer a slightly small frame this time.

Obviously depends what you're buying but at 6 foot and over you're going to be a large 99.9% of the time.

My Strive was in stock when I ordered, paid via credit card, money left my account the following day, got several emails from them letting me know what stage my order was at, no complaints at all! Incidentally, it took less than 24 hours to get from them to the UPS depot near me, then 4 days to make it an hour across Scotland...

All in all, more than happy with the service I received from them ๐Ÿ™‚
