Hi all, looking for a 120mm F/S & one of the suggestions was Canyon.
I've been on the site & the Nerve AL ticks all the box's.
Anyone here running a Canyon bike? What are they like to deal with if you need them? Should I buy a spare mech hanger when I buy the bike or are they fast at getting stuff to you when required?

they are OK to deal with just take their delivery estimate with a big pinch of salt.

I bought a spectral AL last month, took 8 days to arrive which was when they said it would arrive, ordered a spare mech hanger at the same time as they discount them if you buy at the same time.

Totally painless experience start to finish.

I bought a Nerve AL, it is a really good bike, I bought a spare mech hanger at the same time.

We have bought a few bikes from Canyon now and they have been really good to deal with, the bikes are very well set up.

unless it showing In stock then the delivery estimates do change quite often, I ordered a strive cf race which took a delay of 3 and a half months over the 3 months I had already waited, the delay was due to a delay in 3 major components, which to be fair is not always canyons fault, I chose to cancel that order and went with a Spectral AL which was showing in stock, the payment process was painless, the time you click buy to the time the bike turns up on your door step is roughly 8 days, canyon won't take the money from your account until just before the bike is dispatched, they use ups who give constant updates on their tracking site.

I am now on my second canyon, my first one was a nerve am, that arrived with a bent mech hanger due to postal damage, thankfully I ordered a spare so was able to sort it out asap, I sent canyon an email of the damaged part and had a new mech hangar with me in less than 48 hours. But yeah, buy a spare mech hangar, you never know when you'll need it!

I'd say go for it, you will hear some stories of bad customer service but for every bad review there is prob around a hundred good reviews, a lot of the bad reviews also seem to be from when canyon had a very small UK contact centre.

I've got a 150mm Nerve AM from a few years ago. Brilliant bike. Canyon are faultless for me, had a slight crack in frame. No questions, full replacement. Would buy again.

I have a Nerve AL 29er which is nearly two years old now. Apart from an issue with the wheels, which was sorted via local mavic dealer through Canyon customer care, it has been faultless.
Others I know have Strives of the same age which have been similarly good.
One other friend has a Nerve CF where the frame cracked, and whilst it was a little frustrating to get the process started, he did have a new frame agreed within 10 days and it arrived in about five weeks. This was a similar time frame to the frames I received from Trek via warranty

Bikes are great; Canyon service and delivery estimates appalling. YMMV

I've had a Nerve AM for three years now, nothing ever gone wrong with it and still on the original suspension bearings which remain play free. I'd order a Spectral CF tomorrow if I had the money.

I've got the older 26" Nerve XC - brilliant lightweight bike. Delivery and process was faultless so never had to deal with them other than to order. Had it for nearly 3 years now and only things that have needed fettling have been drivetrain wearing out.

Regarding mech hangers, I get mine from here : http://gearmechhanger.com Next day free delivery and a great product.
