My bottom bracket seems to have gone from running smooth and silent to cracking on every revolution along with a squeeking to accompany it on the last 20/30 miles.

I had already bought new bearings to press in but not I'm not sure if it's worth hassle for it to start creaking again a few months late.

I've got a carbon synapse bb30+ with the hollow gram si cranks. Does anybody have a suggestion of a different press ideally screw together bottom bracket which will last a bit longer? Needs to work with the existing cranks.

Cheers

I'm using the WheelsMfg threaded one in two bikes (one Cannondale) with 30mm spindle cranks and I'm still waiting to see how they fare long term. Early days and fine so far; people seem to like them hence why I have them!

Are you sure it's the bearings. With bb30 and dales bb30A it's always worth popping off the cranks and cleaning regresseing it all before replacing bits.

Does your frame use a 68 or unusual for road bike 73mm shell

I would just fit new bearings, cannondales and bianchi come from the same factory with folk working for pennies putting them together.

The BB30 design is actually a good one so new bearing well fitted will often last years.

It's a 68 I've had the crank arms off, all nicely greased. Pedals off and greased. Cleats and pedals decreased and cleaned up through the action.

If it's BB30 then Praxis or FSA BSA sleeve. If it's PF30 then try some Loctight 641 on the cups after a thorough clean.

no doubt the BB will be at fault... but I had a very similar noise that ended up coming from a dried up horst bearing at the very back of the bike! (Jeffsy) Lol
