[#12575929]

I have an unexpected day to myself on Sunday and fancy going for a ride somewhere. I live pretty much half way between Cannock and Swinley so help me pick a destination. I have ridden Cannock before and enjoyed it, so do I go for what I know or try somewhere new? Will I ride Swinley and wish I'd gone to Cannock?

I like both, Swinley does have more flow to it after the recent upgrades got rid of the two long fireroad sections, it's now almost all single-track (do the seagull loop straight after the first half of the blue, then insert tank traps and the new downhill jump line into the ride from there upto 15).

Cannock has a very different feel to it. Because somehow even compared to Swinley it has fewer hills.

Having ridden both, I would say Church Stretton 🙂

I'd say no to either and drive just a little bit further and ride the surrey hills instead.

im drawing a line in my head between cannock and swinley and picking a point in the middle... seems you could do FOD or South Wales for similar distance.

I live next to swinley and if I had to drive half way to cannock to ride it I'd drive somewhere else! It's fine for a quick ride but you have to be full gas all the way to get the most from it, and some of the best trails aren't on the red or blue. Surrey hills has more challenge but there's no arrows to follow so it's harder to string a ride together as an occasional visitor.

Cannock... just pick a direction and explore, that's half the fun!

Or take up the offer above if you don't want to chance getting lost

It’s like choosing whether your shit sandwich is in a bun or a bap. Go to FoD.

If these two are equidistant though he might be in Norwich.

OP - I'd still go to FoD 😁

I won't be going anywhere unfortunately. My bravery exceeded my skill level this morning at the local bike park and I've damaged my left hand. I won't be riding for a week at least.

Of either of these two were on my doorstep I’d still go to FoD…
