[#6633370]

Heading up to Cannock on Sunday, the first time I've been away on the mountain bike for years.
What's it like, nothing to scary is there and are there plenty of chicken runs if there are drop offs etc.

Done Afan/White's Level and a few other welshies in the past but that must be getting on for 8 years ago now.

TIA

There's one short but steep drop if I remember correctly. Nothing too serious though.

I might see you there. Look out for the dented white VW van.

Follow the Dog & The Monkey Trail are all readily rideable forested singletrack, all of the Black options are avoidable if you;re not keen.

News on trail closures etc on our website at www.chasetrails.co.uk

Stu.

There are a couple of closures this weekend and it's probably going to be quite wet but will all be rideable.

Loved it!
Came through it with no crshes or anything, I might start to like this again now!!
Trails were in great condition given the recent weather.

Thanks

People do get a bit serious on the trails. I tend to find everyones happy enough when they're not trying to smash strava times.

Spose you get them everywhere. im alright with the strava lot, they at least warn you before they blaze past and are gone and your left thinking they were good (like the guy on the CX who flew past me and down the rock steps)

Might not be about strava, just that some peoples natural speed is quicker/slower than others.
If I am with a group I take my time, if I am onmy own I tend to go as fast as I can. It's just people out riding bikes enjoying themselves, try not to pigeonhole everyone.....

Can't say I noticed any of that, we moved out of peoples way and people moved out of our way, always a friendly "Cheers mate"

Currently considering our next visit!

It's not just the chase it's society isn't it?

Put a lot of people in one place and you'll get a mix of good and bad.

It's a bit like asking how many strangers do you smile and say good morning to in the street.

I did a lap of the Monkey on Sunday for the first time in ages and managed to get myself wound up by others on a couple of occasions but then that's one of the reasons I don't ride them all that often (oh the irony).

Your most pressing concern will be if your bars are over 740mm wide as you will need to do some Wiggling
