Does anyone know if Cannock is rideable today without consistent face planting?

...if not, is there anywhere within about 2hrs of Telford that is?

There was a couple of centimetres of additional snow on top of the thawing slushy ice last night. weather is nice though. Might well end up faceplanting, not sure, the conditions have been difficult to gauge without getting out there for the last week or so.

I wouldn't mate, I live 20 mins away and we've had a large dumping of snow overnight, it is melting though and we're due some rain later so maybe go up tomorrow?!

Thanks for the replies, as above, I think we're going to hold off until tomorrow now and potentially head somewhere welsh bound instead!

Good choice,it was riding crap this morning & when it does thaw, with all the added rain that's coming it's going to turn into a right mess.....

so after 4hrs today going best described as heavy to impossible, with a bit of totally unpredictable thrown in for good measure.

bits of dog, monkey and loads of cheeky all in perfectly ridable condition this morning as long as the riding style is brute force and ignorance. faffing, trying to spin a mincey gear or generally being a bit wet would have made it a challenge ๐Ÿ˜†

I couldn't get up some of the monkey hills, had to push. I chose a stupid rear tyre though, if I had gone for something with better clearing I reckon I could have got up most of it. As it was I had to walk on few sections. Lots of ice bath puddles on the downs that can't really be avoided. The boardwalks are PROPER treacherous. Apart from that, it was really good fun. Lots of drifting. Very different to a typical ride but the sun and pretty snow made it uber pleasant. I want to go again.
