Is it worth a 2hr drive? Thinking of checking it out next week sometime but it is a 4hr round trip from P'boro.

I would say so yes as a one off. The cafe is pretty good for a chill out afterwards

Jamie - I live near P'boro and had to work last week in Telford for a few day so took the bike to try out the new trail. Previously I've thought that ftd wasn't long enough to justify the journey, but now that the monkey trail is in place, I think it's a great place to go riding & definitely worthy of a 2hr trip - the extra distance of riding justifies it.

Next time I go, I think it will be get there early, do a full lap of ftd & monkey trail. Stop for some luncheon & then out for another blast.

It's a good trail that needs to 'mature' a little but there are little bits that make you think WTF?

Jamie - god knows when I'll be back there! Scotland this weekend & then busy for a few weekends after that.
I generally only get a weekly Thetford ride in, followed with local road stuff in the week or a couple of laps of Rutland at the weekend if I'm feeling particularly (un)adventurous.
Riding 'away from home' generally needs plenty of planning in advance!! Unfortunately.

Hopefully the next ride over at Cannock will be basked in sunshine though!!
