I'm heading down to bespoked bristol and looking at hitting Cannock on the way back,
Can anyone recommend a good campsite near a good pub?

As for pubs there's the Barley Mow at Milford Common (big pub chain) or the Horns at Slitting Mill (slightly more traditional)
Springslade lodge is ok. Stayed there last week. No shower block until june mind.
Can't recommend the park gate Inn up at Castle Ring enough. Food is absolutely superb (homemade rum and raisin icecream was bleeding lovely!)and staff really friendly. If you're in a camper/motorhome, call them in advance and as long as you eat/drink there you are welcome to overnight in their secluded car park.
Slip out the back gate of Springslade Lodge & your right at the start of the best bits of the Monkey Trail.
Pubs...Park Gate takes some beating.
Springslade and no where near any pubs or the Monkey. And food is expensive.
Barley Mow is rubbish. Horns is utterly dull. Park Gate is good and theres a campsite by it at Beudesert but no eye deer what its like and a caravan club campsite at Wandon which is right by Monkey.
And the Wandon campsite will be about a hilly mile from Chetwynd Arms in Upper Longdon which is good (not Chetwynd in Brocton which is average at best)
taki may mean be thinking of the Camping & Caravan Club site, which is very close to the Monkey trail. Also a nice campsite as it happens although mainly sloping.
