Will be staying at the travelodge on the A38 over the Easter period, and was wondering if any locals could recomend pre ride breakfast and a nice pub to get evening meals.

Don't know about brekkie, but the Horns has always served us well. It's just round the corner from Birches Valley, and they do great big chips...

OK, you may well be going through Barton-under-Needwood on your way to the chase - (this is the most direct but a satnav may give a different route) Anyway, there's a cafe called Skinny Kitten in Barton, and also the Waterfront which is a collection of deli's/coffee shops etc.

Breakfast: either the butty van on the 460(same road the money starts on) or the pines cafe on the west cannock fives Ind est( just past the butty van)

Dinner: yorkshireman in rugeley or hollybush in Salt nr stafford.
