[#4173309]

A friend and I ride over Cannock on evenings and weekend mornings and always pay to park on the carpark.
The other night we couldn’t leave as early as normal and didn’t arrive at cannock till 8:30 and the car park shuts at 9:00. Not wanting to be locked in we parked on the road just down from the entrance. We had no problems but felt it was a bit risky leaving the car as we did. The road has no markings etc so I don’t think we breached any parking laws but we would prefer to leave it somewhere else next time.
Any suggestions.

Cheers

Andy

There's nowhere that can be considered particularly safe on the basis that you're parking in a potentially dark and quiet location. The Horns Pub down in Slitting Mill appears to be bike friendly although Karma dictates that you should stop for a drink before you head off. Other than that it's common sense of parking sensibly, not blocking barriers etc.

It'd be nice not to be one of the eejits who parks on the verge on Post Office Lane in Slitting Mill, that must drive the residents loopy.

ill have a look at the pup. we certainly wouldn't take much convincing to get a pint after.
We thought we would see more people night riding (it was dark when we finished) but it appeared it was only us.
Cheers

I've parked on (I think) Marquis' drive, it's on the red route just before the campsite, a few times with no issues.

Marquis Drive will be relatively ok. (Slightly) less chance of doggers, too.

my mate decided to tell me Cannock was rife with doggers as i was nearly stark b0l0ck naked getting changed by the side of the road after riding (the bike) last week.

As others have said, Marquis Drive...there are usually plenty of others parked here too, so the car should be fairly safe.

FWIW, I've c0cked up my timings at BV and missed the parking cut-off...whoever locks up had kindly looped the lock through the gate but not locked it. Wouldn't bank on this though!

I always park on Marquis Drive, there's always quite a few cars parked around, so it's relatively safe
